Binghamton Mighty Mart Robbery
On Friday, November 8, 2002, the Manley’s Mighty Mart at 150 Conklin Avenue was robbed by a lone gunman. At approximately 10:03 PM on that date, a female cashier was working in the storage room of the business when the front door alert activated, indicating that someone had just walked into the store. As the cashier walked from the storage room to the sales floor, she was immediately confronted by a man who was wearing a black, mesh Halloween mask. The man began shouting at the clerk, ordering her to give him money. When the clerk hesitated, the man pulled out a handgun and fired it once into the storage room. He then told the clerk he would shoot her if she didn’t comply with his demand.

The clerk removed money from the cash register and gave it to the man. He then ran out the front door of the store and fled the scene.
No one was injured in this incident. The bullet passed through the storage room without striking anyone.

The suspect is described as a male, about 5’9" tall, weight approximately 180 pounds, medium build, wearing a black mesh Halloween mask, dark hooded sweatshirt with a gray hood, dark blue or black nylon gloves with red on them and dark jeans. The suspect spoke with a very deep voice and is believed to be black. The handgun is described as black with a long thin barrel.

Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes.
