Hessmart Larceny - April 12, 2002
On April 12, 2002 at about 3:45am, a woman was shopping at Hessmart, 61 Glenwood Avenue, Binghamton, New York. After paying for her items the woman left the store, accidentally leaving a substancial amount of her money on the cash register counter. The cashier did not notice the money left on the counter.

A short time after the woman had left the store, a man entered the store and made a purchase. As the man was leaving the store the cashier noticed the money which was still sitting on the counter. The cashier called out to the man and told him he had left his money on the counter. The man returned to the counter, picked up the money and put it in his pocket. The man acted as if it was he who had forgotten the money. The man then exited the store with the money.

While riding home, the woman realized that she had left her money on the counter. She immediately returned to the store but the man had already left with her money.

Suspect Description: White, male, 50-60 years of age, white hair.

Suspect Vehicle: Small white car with sunroof.
