Binghamton Strong Arm Robberies
On Thursday, December 26, 2002, just before midnight, two 16 year old Binghamton boys were walking through Recreation Park, Binghamton, New York, on their way to a friend’s house. In the vicinity of the carousel, they walked by three males who began chasing them. The two boys became separated in their effort to elude the three males. One of the boys was able to escape the attackers, but the other boy was caught by one of the males in the little league field of the park.

The boy struggled with his attacker, but was finally overcome. The male forcibly took the boy’s wallet, which contained $30.00, and then fled through the park. After summoning help with his cell phone, the boy was transported by Binghamton Fire Department to Wilson Hospital for treatment of head lacerations, facial scrapes and bruises and a possible broken finger. The other boy, who eluded his attackers, was uninjured.

The Suspects in the Recreation Park Robbery are described as follows,

Suspect One : White, male, 16 to 18 years of age, 5’11" in height, brown hair

Suspect Two: White or light skin black male, 6’0" tall, wearing an ape mask, and a dark blue or black hooded sweatshirt. Suspect Three: Male, wearing a long sleeve shirt and a winter hat pulled over his ears, blue or black with green.
