Marathon Bank Robbery

On December 30, 2002, at 10:55 AM, the Alliance Bank on Main Street, Marathon, New York, was robbed by a man who claimed to have a bomb. At the completion of the robbery, the man fled the bank, with an undisclosed amount of money, through the rear entrance to the building. The suspect is described as a white male, 5 foot 3 inches in height; skinny build; scruffy beard; wearing an army jacket and a dark cap.

A composite drawing of the suspect has been developed and is presented as part of this case. There were no injuries in this incident.

Along with any specific information on this crime, Investigators are also interested in any suspicious activity that may have been observed in the vicinity of the bank at the time of the robbery.

The New York State Police in Homer, New York, is investigating this robbery, all information will be forwarded to them.

Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes.
