Binghamton, Universal Robbery
On Friday, January 18, 2002, at about 1:58 AM, a 20 year old Morris Protective Services Security Guard was routinely checking the Universal Instrument building at 1 Centre Plaza, 53 Chenango Street, Binghamton, New York. As the guard made his rounds, he encountered two men who were standing on an outdoor stairway between two buildings. The two men began to harass the guard with verbal insults, and then, suddenly, attacked him. One of the men began punching the guard in the head while the other man prevented the guard from retreating. After overpowering and beating the guard, the men ordered him to hand over his money. The men took $17.00 in cash from the guard, then fled on foot, last seen running east towards Chenango Street. The guard suffered numerous welts and bruises to his face, but was not seriously injured. The suspects in this case are described as follows: Suspect One - Male, white, 25 to 30 years of age, 62", 220 pounds, medium length straight brown hair, goatee, ring on right index finger, wearing a flannel coat and black pants. Suspect Two - Male, white, age in his mid twenties, 510", short red hair almost a buzz cut, numerous gold chains around his neck, wearing a black puffy coat and black pants. Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes. |
