Binghamton Commercial Burglaries

Sometime overnight on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2003, two Binghamton, New York businesses were burglarized. The burglaries occurred at the Brandywine Bowl, 15 Walter Avenue, and Allie’s Adult Outlet, 483 Court Street. The burglaries share a number of similarities and were probably committed by the same person or persons. The Binghamton Police are investigating those two break-ins.

The Brandywine Bowl burglary occurred sometime between the hours of 7:00 PM Easter night and 9:30 AM the next morning, when it was discovered. In this incident, the alarm was disabled by the perpetrator(s) prior to forcing entry. The exact point of entry is still under investigation. Taken in this burglary was an undisclosed amount of cash from various sources within the building.

The Allie’s burglary occurred sometime between the hours of just after midnight and before 8:26 AM on April 21, 2003. Like the Brandywine burglary, the alarm to the store was disabled prior to the entry. Entry to the building was gained by forcing the rear door. Once inside, two safes and several secured interior doors were forced open, allowing access to the entire interior of the building. Taken in this burglary was an undisclosed amount of cash, several adult novelty items and a number of adult videos.

New York State Police in Deposit, New York are investigating a burglary that has similarities to the Binghamton burglaries. On April 28, 2003, the East Branch Country Store on Route 30 in the Town of Hancock was burglarized during the hours of 12:55 AM and 3:30 AM. The suspect parked a larger vehicle behind the store and forced entry through a rear basement door. The Suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes from this store. He was captured on the Store surveillance camera and the accompanying photo of the suspect is from that camera.

Suspect appears to be a white male, 5’10" to 6’0" tall, medium to husky build, mustache and wore sneakers. Suspect appears to be physically very strong.

Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes.
