On Friday, May 16, 2003, at approximately 9:30 PM, Binghamton Police responded to a report of shots fired on Silver Street, Binghamton, New York. Upon arrival, Police found a number of spent shell casings lying on the ground in and around the street. The shooters had apparently fled the scene, and there were no indications that anyone had been injured. Two homes had been struck by bullets but no residents were struck or injured.

The investigation revealed that at the time of the incident, two men were walking east on Silver Street from Griswold Street when a car drove by them, westbound.
