On Wednesday, May 21, 2003, a robbery occurred at the Giant Market, 307 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton, New York. At 9:10 PM, on that date, two men entered the store and approached the service desk which is located near the entrance to the business. A store employee was on duty at the desk with two more workers nearby in an adjoining office.

Suddenly, one of the men jumped up to the top of the service desk’s counter , scrambled over a glass partition and dropped into the area where the employee was working. The other man stood at one of the cashier windows and partially displayed a black handgun which he held in his hand and rested on the counter. At this point, the man on the inside began pulling open drawers, looking for money. He continued rummaging through drawers and taking money until one of the employees that was in the adjoining office approached him . After a brief confrontation, the man climbed back over the partition, joined up with the other man and both ran out of the store.

The men ran north across the parking lot to Belden Street, where they got into a car and drove off When the men approached the car the headlights came on, indicating that there may have been an accomplice driving the vehicle. No one was injured in this incident and the robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Suspect one, the man who climbed the partition, is described as a light skinned black male, age in his early 20’s, approximately 6’0" tall, large build, big eyes, close cropped hair, possibly in corn rows, wearing a blue football type jersey, with "32" and "James" printed on it in white lettering, and wearing a blue and white baseball cap.

Suspect two is described as a dark skinned black male, age in early 20’s, 5’ 7" to 6’0" tall, thin, wearing a dark jacket, red shirt, red baseball cap and a red hood.

The vehicle is described as a dark car, bearing a New York license plate, possibly COX 2430.

Pictures of the suspects were taken from the stores surveillance camera.
