On Saturday, May 31, 2003, at 2:13 PM, a Chenango Forks woman was doing her laundry at the Speed Queen Laundromat, 300 Main Street, Binghamton, New York. As the woman focused on doing the laundry, her purse was taken from a nearby table. The purse contained the woman’s wallet, credit cards and other personal items. While the woman did not see who stole the purse, she did notice a suspicious man watching her as she did her laundry. The man was gone when the woman discovered her purse had been stolen.

A witness attempted to follow the fleeing suspect, but lost him about one block north when the man ran onto the railroad tracks from Brown Street.
