On Thursday, May 1, 2003, a domestic violence incident occurred on the south side of Binghamton, New York. At approximately 8:00 AM on that date a 24 year old woman returned to her apartment on Homer Street after being away for some time. The woman was both surprised and frightened when she found her ex-boyfriend, Jamie F. Suggs, sitting in the hallway that led to the front door of her apartment. The two had split up about one month prior and the woman had actually been staying elsewhere in an effort to avoid him. The woman was afraid of Suggs because he had, allegedly, threatened to harm her. Suggs asked the woman to let him in her apartment. When she refused he went into a rage. He began by breaking the door to the hallway that he had confronted the woman in. Next, he exited the apartment building and walked over to the womans car, which was parked just outside. Suggs first broke out the sunroof to the 1990 Buick, then smashed out its rear window. He then went to the passenger side of the car and repeatedly kicked both the front and rear doors, which resulted in their being dented. Suggs again threatened to harm the woman, then fled the area on foot. The woman, who was uninjured in the attack, immediately summoned Binghamton Police. Efforts to locate Suggs were unsuccessful. On May 6, 2003, City Court Judge Mary Anne Lehman issued a Warrant of Arrest for Suggs, charging him with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, a Felony. Suggs has never been arrested on that charge and remains at large at this time. Jamie F. Suggs is described as a black male, 21 years of age, born April 28, 1982, 64" tall, 185 pounds, brown eyes and black hair. He goes by the street name of " Fred". Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes. |
