On Tuesday, July 8, 2003, an armed robbery occurred at the Giant Market, 279 Main Street, Binghamton, New York. At 9:07 PM on that date, a lone female came to the window of the store teller section of the store’s office. The woman then slipped a note to the male clerk working inside the office, by sliding it through the slot at the base of the teller window. The note demanded money and threatened the teller with harm if he didn’t cooperate. As the teller read the note, the woman displayed a silver colored semi automatic handgun which she noisily placed on the counter. In compliance with the note, the teller gave the woman an undisclosed amount of cash. The woman then ran out of the store and fled the area on foot, last seen running east on Main Street. No one was injured in this incident. The woman suspect is described as black, age in late teens or early twenties, 5’7" to 5’9" tall, 120 to 130 pounds, short afro style hair. She was last seen wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt, white shirt, dark pants and a white and darker colored baseball cap. Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes. |
