Town of Windsor, Burglary

The Broome County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the Town of Windsor, New York, on Thursday, August 7, 2003 or Friday, August 8, 2003. Sometime during that timeframe, a residence on Flat Iron Road was forcibly entered and a number of items were stolen. Flat Iron Road is located in the eastern section of the Town of Windsor in the vicinity of Sky Lake.

One of the items taken was a several hundred pound gun safe. Also taken in the burglary were various items, including a number of long-guns and handguns, as well as an ATV, power tools and hand tools.

The total value of property stolen was $40,000.00.

The stolen safe was later discovered a short distance from the crime scene. The safe was open when it was found. Because of the size of the gun safe, and the amount of property stolen, investigators feel at least two people are responsible for this crime.

Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes.
