Binghamton McDonalds Burglary

On Sunday, July 6, 2003, a burglary was discovered at the McDonalds Restaurant, 167 Main Street, Binghamton, New York. At about 8:00 AM on that date, an employee realized that a break-in had occurred sometime overnight, following a late night, Saturday, July 5, 2003 closing. The employee notified Binghamton Police who responded immediately.

The subsequent investigation by Binghamton Police revealed that after entering the restaurant, the perpetrator(s) located and opened a locked safe. The perpetrator(s) then removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the safe.

On July 9, 2003, Investigators arrested Omar J. Harry, 97 Murray Street, Binghamton, 27 years of age, and charged him with Burglary in the Third Degree, a Felony. Investigators allege that Harry was responsible for the Burglary. Harry was remanded to Broome County Jail, but was later released on July 25, 2003, on $5,000.00 Bail. He is currently awaiting further Court proceedings.

The Investigation further revealed that Harry may have been assisted by others in the commission of the burglary. Investigators are interested in the identities of any accomplices that Harry may have had in the commission of this crime, and the roles they played.

Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes.
