What's Your Beef Robbery

In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 23, 2003, a robbery occurred at the What’s Your Beef Restaurant, 62 Leroy Street, Binghamton, New York. At about 1:20 AM on that date, two restaurant employees were walking to their cars which were parked in the rear lot of the business. One of the employees, a male, was carrying a bag which contained proceeds from the evening’s business. As each of the employees neared their respective cars, a man appeared in the lot and approached the male who was carrying the bag. The man suddenly grabbed hold of the bag, and attempted to take it from the employee. A struggle ensued as the employee resisted the man’s attempt to steal the money. The other employee, a female, was at the other end of the lot and unable to assist. After a brief struggle, the man was able to wrest the bag from the male employee. The man then pushed the employee to the ground and fled the area on foot, last seen running behind the restaurant, and west towards Chestnut Street.

Neither of the employees were injured in this incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6’0" tall, wearing a gray sweat suit with a hood.

Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes.
