Mobil Express Mart Robbery,
Binghamton, NY

On Sunday, September 21, 2003, an armed robbery occurred on the east side of Binghamton, New York. At about 8:50 PM on that date, a female clerk was working the counter of the Mobil Express Mart, 400 Court Street, when a man wearing a mask walked into the store through the front door. The man, brandishing a hammer, approached the cashier and began shouting at her in a violent, aggressive manner. He ordered the cashier to remove the cash drawer from the register and to then hand him all the money in it. While the man menacingly held the hammer near her hands, the cashier complied with his demands and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The man then told the cashier to lie on the floor and not to get back up until she had counted to fifty. When the cashier got on the floor, the man ran out the front door. His direction of travel is unknown, but he may have fled the scene in a vehicle.

No one was injured in this incident.

The suspect is described as a light skinned male, 5’8", wearing a hockey face mask with a red design, black gardening gloves, blue long sleeve sweatshirt with unknown lettering, hood, tan short pants and white sneakers.

Pictures of the suspect have been developed from surveillance video.

Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes.
