In March of 2004, a Grand Larceny occurred in the City of Binghamton, New York. The story initiated in the beginning of February, 2004, when a Brooklyn, New York resident who owns several residential rental properties in Binghamton, met a local man who identified himself as Dean Whitecloud. Following the introduction, Whitecloud was hired by the man to do maintenance and odd jobs at the various apartment buildings, which are spread across the city. Later, in March, the man asked Whitecloud to collect the rent from all the apartments and forward it to him in Brooklyn. On March 21, 2004, the Brooklyn man reported to Binghamton Police that Whitecloud had never forwarded the rent money and was nowhere to be found. The subsequent investigation revealed that Whitecloud had collected all the rents, which totaled $5,600.00, but that he never sent it to his employer. Efforts to locate Whitecloud were unsuccessful, therefore, on April 12, 2004, City Court Judge Mary Ann Lehmann issued an Arrest Warrant for him on a charge of Grand larceny in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony. Whitecloud was never arrested on that warrant and remains at large at this time. Additionally, on March 4, 2004, Whitecloud was arrested by Binghamton Police on several Vehicle and Traffic charges following a traffic stop. Included among those charges was a misdemeanor count of driving a vehicle with a suspended registration. He was issued an Appearance Ticket to appear in City Court at a later date. On March 15, 2004, City Court Judge John T. Hillis issued an Arrest Warrant for Whitecloud when he failed to appear for his scheduled court appearance. Whitecloud has never been arrested on that warrant as well. Dean Whitecloud is described as a white male, 52 years of age, born December 27, 1951, 57" tall, 180 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes. He also uses the alias of Alan Danny Robertson, date of birth December 27, 1950. His last known address was 61 Baldwin Street, Binghamton and 5 Felters Road, Binghamton. Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes. |
