Richard A. Dippolito

Fugitive, Richard A. Dippolito

On July 13, 2004, a man named Richard A. Dippolito opened an account at the Horizons Federal Credit Union at 120 Main Street, Binghamton, New York. Over the next several days, Dippolito made a number of deposits into the account which consisted of checks made payable to his order. Dippolito would at the same time, withdraw cash from the account.

Two of the deposited checks were drawn on the account of a 57 year old west side Binghamton woman. The checking account was with another local financial institution. Soon after being deposited, it was discovered that the checks had been stolen from the woman’s house, and the information on them, including her signature, were forged.

The subsequent investigation revealed that Dippolito was responsible for the two forgeries. Efforts by the Binghamton Police to locate him were unsuccessful, and so on August 2, 2004, City Court Judge the Honorable David F. Crowley issued a Warrant of Arrest for Dippolito, charging him with Forgery in the Second Degree, a Class D felony. Dippolito has never been arrested on that warrant, and remains at large at this time.

Richard A. Dippolito is also wanted by the New York State Division of Parole as a Parole Absconder. A Warrant of Arrest was issued for him on July 29, 2004.

Additionally, Dippolito is wanted by the Fairport, New York Police Department, on a Warrant of Arrest for Petit Larceny, and the Brady County, Oklahoma Sheriff Department on a Forgery Warrant.

Richard A. Dippolito is described as a white male, 56 years of age, born November 7, 1947, 5’10", 250 pounds, brown hair and blue eyes. He has tattoo’s and scars on both arms and wears prescription eyeglasses. He uses the aliases of Eric Winkky, and Bill Willis. He has no permanent address and is currently homeless.

Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes.
