In the early morning hours of Sunday, August 8, 2004, a felony Criminal Mischief occurred in the downtown area of Binghamton, New York. At 4:09 AM on that date, a uniformed, on duty Binghamton Police Officer observed a man smash out the front window of the HSBC Bank, 65 Court Street. The Officer called in the incident and requested other patrol units to assist with taking the man into custody. As the Officers endeavored to arrest the man, he refused to be taken into custody and a brief struggle ensued. Once under control, the man was identified as Kareem A. Davis and charged with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, a Class E Felony, for smashing out the window, and Resisting Arrest. He was issued an Appearance Ticket to return to Binghamton City Court on August 12, 2004 for Arraignment. Davis never made that City Court appearance and so on August 13, 2004, City Court Judge David F. Crowley issued an Arrest Warrant for him. Additionally, there other City of Binghamton Court Warrants for Davis. One is a Bench Warrant where he has failed to pay a Fine and Court Surcharge on an Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree conviction. The other Warrant is the result of an investigation by Binghamton Police into a July 19, 2004 " hit and run" accident on Park Street. The Arrest Warrant charges Davis with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree, a Misdemeanor, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Incident and Unsafe Backing., both Traffic violations. Davis is also wanted by the Town of Vestal , New York, Court on an Arrest Warrant for Criminal Impersonation in the Second Degree, a Misdemeanor. In that incident, Davis lied about his identity to a Vestal Police Officer at a traffic stop. Kareem Antoine Davis is described as a black male, 24 years of age, born February 18, 1980, 62", 168 pounds, black hair and brown eyes. His last known address is 74 Cleveland Avenue, Binghamton. He has a street name of "Tizdom" and uses the alias of Kareem D. Taylor. He has also used a fictitious date of birth, that being February 18, 1979. Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes. |
