59 Court Street Burglary

In late September of this year, a commercial burglary occurred in downtown Binghamton, New York. In the overnight hours of Tuesday, September 21, 2004 to Wednesday, September 22, 2004, the Cull Martin Associates, a Marketing / Advertising firm located on the fourth floor of 59 Court Street, was broken into. 59 Court Street is a multi-tenant building which houses a number of businesses. The burglary was discovered as employees arrived for work that Wednesday morning. Binghamton Police were immediately contacted and they responded to the scene.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the break in occurred between the hours of 5:30 PM and 10:30 PM on September 21, 2004. Entry to the firm was gained by forcing a fourth floor interior door that leads to the Cull offices. Once beyond this door, the burglar(s) had access to  interior offices.  The office building appears to have been entered through a fire door located on the northwest side of the structure, in an alleyway. This alleyway is not visible from the street. There were no other reported burglaries in the office building that date.

Taken in the burglary were 4 laptop computers of an undisclosed value. These computers were taken from offices and were used by employees. The firm has taken measures to improve security and prevent future break-ins.

Along with specific suspect or stolen property information, Detectives would be interested in any suspicious persons or activities observed at this location during the hours mentioned.

Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes.
