BPD & JCPD Criminal Mischiefs
During the last week of February, 2005, a series of Criminal Mischiefs occurred in both the City of Binghamton and the Village of Johnson City, New York. The first incident took place in Johnson City, on February 22, 2005, when the front window of the Oak Express, located at 665 Harry L. Drive, was shot out, apparently by a pellet or bb gun. Binghamton was the site of the next incident, which took place at St. Michael’s Church, 288 Clinton Street. On Thursday, February 24, 2005 at about 6:55 PM, a priest and other people were meeting inside the church when they heard a loud noise come from the front of the building. Upon arrival to the front of the church, they discovered that 2 windows had been shot out, apparently by pellet or bb gun. Later, that same night, at about 8:30 PM, the group was once again interrupted when a door and another window were shot out by the same means. There were no reported injuries in that incident. Additionally on that evening, between 8:45 PM and 9:15 PM, 5 parked vehicles had windows shot out of them, apparently with the same type of weapon. Those vehicles were located on Mygatt Street and Crestmont Road in the City of Binghamton. The following morning, four more vehicles were discovered to have their windows shot out. These vehicles were on Prospect Street and Highland Avenue in the City, and Fairview Street and North Baldwin Street in the Village. The final criminal mischief took place sometime over the weekend of Friday, February 25, 2005 through Monday morning, February 28, 2005. In this incident, the front window of the Duds and Suds, 9 Glenwood Avenue, Binghamton, was shot out. There are no reported injuries in any of these incidents. Total value of property damaged is undetermined at this time, but will likely be several thousand dollars. It is very possible that the suspect(s) was traveling in a motor vehicle during these incidents, firing from it when in the vicinity of a target. Along with specific suspect information, Binghamton and Johnson City Detectives would be interested in any information on suspicious individuals, vehicles or activities observed in the vicinity of the incidents, at the previously mentioned times. Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes. |
