JCPD Main Street Terrace Arson

On Wednesday, April 20, 2005, an Arson occurred in Johnson City, New York. At about 12:07 AM, on that date, the Johnson City Fire Department and the Johnson City Police Department responded to the report of a working structure fire at 28 Main Street Terrace, in the Village. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the second floor of the apartment building fully engulfed in flames. All occupants of the building were able to escape without injuries.
The subsequent investigation has resulted in a determination by the Broome County Fire Investigation Team that the cause of the fire is suspicious in nature. It was further determined that the fire began on the second floor rear porch.
The Johnson City Police Department is attempting to identify a male that may be a material witness to the fire. This individual is described as a white male, approximately 20 to 25 years of age, thin to medium build, short dark hair and long sideburns. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and dark colored jeans.
The male may have been operating a small to mid sized vehicle, color white, and having bumper stickers on the rear of the trunk.
Along with identifying the male, Johnson City Police would also be interested in any specific suspect information; as well as any observations of suspicious individuals, vehicles or occurrences in the vicinity of the fire around the time of the blaze.

Binghamton Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.00 for information which leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual(s) responsible for these crimes.
