BPD Fugitives Riavellette J. Gerard & Laurissa S. Knight

In September of 2004, a 16 year old Binghamton youth was a potential witness in a local criminal case. The individual, who is currently 17 years old, had been the victim of a crime that had been committed against him by another male. The case against the male was pending in local court.
In the early afternoon of Monday, September 27, 2004, at 31 Main Street, Binghamton, the youth was approached by a 17 year old female named Laurissa S. Knight. Knight is the sister of the male in the pending court proceeding. In an alleged effort to compel the youth not to testify against her brother, Knight is accused of putting her hands around his neck and choking him. Knight also threw a garbage can at the youth. Binghamton Police intervened in this incident and later arrested Knight, charging her with Tampering with a Witness in the Third Degree, a Felony.
On the morning of Tuesday, September 28, 2004, the youth was jogging on Leroy Street near Front Street in Binghamton, when a van pulled in front of him and stopped. In the van was Knight and her Mother, Riavellette J. Gerard. Gerard is also the Mother of the male accused in the youth’s case. In an alleged effort to dissuade the youth from testifying against her son, Gerard began yelling at the youth in a threatening manner, causing him to fear for his safety. Binghamton Police were also contacted on this incident, and Gerard was later arrested and charged with Tampering with a Witness in the Third Degree.
In April of 2005, both women failed to appear in City Court as directed. Therefore, City Court Judge Mary Ann Lehman issued Bench Warrants for the arrest of each woman. Both women have never been arrested on those warrants, and remain at large at this time. There is also a Bench Warrant for Knight, for failing to appear in City Court on a Disorderly Conduct charge.
Riavelette J. Gerard is described as a black female, 44 years of age, born June 19, 1960, 5’6”, 165 pounds.
Laurissa S. Knight is described as a black female, 17 years of age, born July 5, 1987, 5’8”, 120 pounds.
Knight and Gerard’s last known address was 56 St. John Avenue, Binghamton
