BPD Burr Avenue Residential Burglary

In the beginning of May, 2005, a residential burglary took place on the south side of Binghamton, New York. Sometime between the hours of the evening of Saturday, May 7, 2005 and 7:20 AM, Sunday, May 8, 2005, a residence on Burr Avenue was illegally entered and property stolen. Entry to the residence was gained through an enclosed front room. Apparently, a window inadvertently left unlocked, was the point of entry. All of the windows were closed and locked, with the exception of one, which was closed but unlocked. The exterior door to the room was also closed and locked. It appears that the burglar(s) exited the structure through the front room door, apparently closing it behind them as they left. The door locking mechanism while not permitting entry from the exterior, would readily allow for egress from the interior. It appears that entry into the remainder of the home was not gained.
It appears that the only thing stolen in this burglary was a Razor electric Scooter, which was in the front room. The scooter was, most likely, carried out the front door by the burglar(s).
A Razor electric Scooter is a two wheeled vehicle designed after the traditional push scooter that children have played with for years. It has an electric motor, powered by, generally, two rechargeable 12 volt batteries. Models are constructed with welded steel frame, forks and handles. Models designed for children generally carry a maximum weight limit of 100 pounds, and can run for up to 45 minutes at 10 - 12 miles per hour.
The scooter taken in this burglary is described as being a Razor brand, colored red, with a seat, possibly a Model E200-S and purchased at Wal-Mart about a year ago for $173.00.
The stolen scooter may look similar to the one in the picture presented with this case.

BINGHAMTON CRIME STOPPERS IS OFFERING A REWARD OF UP TO $1,000.00 FOR INFORMATION WHICH LEADS TO THE ARREST AND INDICTMENT OF THE SUSPECT IN THIS CASE.
