BPD Prime’s Fashions Burglary

In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 24, 2005, a commercial burglary occurred on the west side of Binghamton, New York. At about 7:00 AM on that day, a motorist stopped a Binghamton Police Officer who was walking a foot post in the downtown area. The motorist informed the Officer that it appeared that the front door of the Prime’s Fashions Store, at 1 Main Street, was broken. Officers immediately responded to the scene and discovered that the front door had been forced open.. The Officers entered the store to check it for suspects. Finding no one, the investigation into the break in was initiated.
Entry to the store had, indeed, been made through the front door. The door, which faces Main Street, is the west most on the front of the building. Glass in the door was smashed out, allowing for accessibility to it’s locking mechanism. The burglar(s) reached in, unlocked the door and entered the store.
Once inside, the burglar(s) through items of apparel around the store in their search for loot. Display cases were ransacked as well. Exit from the store was through the same door that entry was made.
Because of the large amount of property stolen, it is likely that more than one person committed this crime, and that there was a waiting vehicle for transport. The burglary occurred sometime between the hours of 4:00 AM and 7:00 AM, that day.
Taken in the burglary was a large amount of clothing, accessories and sneakers, valued at more than $4,500.00.
Along with specific suspect information, Investigators would be interested in any observations of suspicious individuals, vehicles or activities in the area of the store at the time of the burglary. Additionally, any information on the stolen property would be helpful.

BINGHAMTON CRIME STOPPERS IS OFFERING A REWARD OF UP TO $1,000.00 FOR INFORMATION WHICH LEADS TO THE ARREST AND INDICTMENT OF THE SUSPECT IN THIS CASE.
