VPD Tool Larceny

The property stolen in the first theft, a Band Saw, Angle Drill and Acetylene Torch, all have green spray paint on them.
Original details:
On Thursday, May 19, 2005, two separate larcenies were reported to the Vestal, New York, Police Department. The larcenies were reported from the University Square construction site, (formerly the Vestal Plaza), on the Vestal Parkway.
The first larceny occurred sometime after the end of the workday on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 and before the beginning of the next. In this incident, locks were removed from two different gang boxes inside the site. Taken from these boxes were a Milwaukee Band Saw, a Milwaukee Angle Drill and an Acetylene Torch.
In the second theft, which occurred during the same time frame, items were taken from a panel truck, which was parked in a lot at the site. The rear door lock on the vehicle was removed to accommodate the entry. Stolen from this vehicle was a Romack Tapping Machine and two smaller tapping machines. These tools are used to tap into live water mains. The Romach Tapping Machine was in a box and weighs approximately 500 pounds. Also missing from this truck were two 100 foot rolls of Type K soft copper tubing. One of the rolls was removed from it’s box while the other was not.
Seen in the construction site, after work hours on the Wednesday mentioned, was a Chevrolet or GMC 4X4 Pickup truck. The vehicle was green in color and had a yellow light in the roof area over the driver. Additionally, the vehicle had a tool box in the rear.
