BPD North / East Commercial Burglaries

In the overnight hours of Monday, June 13, 2005 to Tuesday, June 14, 2005, a number of commercial burglaries occurred on the North and East sides of Binghamton, New York. In the first incident, Binghamton Police responded to a reported break in at the W. J. Norton Company, 363 Court Street, at 10:03 PM. Upon arrival, Officers found that a window in an overhead garage door had been smashed out and entry gained through the resulting opening. A search of the building for suspects ended with negative outcome. Taken in this break-in was a 3 bay candy dispensing machine, 2 pairs of “North” motorcycle goggles and a leather covered motorcycle helmet. Total value of property stolen is undisclosed.
The second incident occurred exactly one hour later, when Officers were dispatched to a burglary alarm at Binghamton Agway, 145 Broad Avenue. Officers discovered the front door of the business smashed out, and entry gained at that point. A search of the building resulted in no suspects being located. While many items in the store had been disturbed, it appears at this time that nothing was taken from the store.
At 7:42 AM, the following morning, a burglary was discovered at Martin Brothers Cleaners, 30 West State Street. Entry to this business was made by the suspect(s) smashing out a window and then climbing through it. In this incident, a vending machine was pried open and an undisclosed amount of coins removed. This break-in occurred sometime after 10:00PM Monday night.
On Thursday, June 16, 2005, at 11 minutes after midnight, Binghamton Police responded to a burglary at Cook Brothers, 76 Frederick Street. Responding Officers discovered the front door smashed out and a cinder block lying on the floor inside the business. No suspects were located in the subsequent search of the building. Taken in this incident was a gumball machine.
Because of the similarities in the four burglaries, Investigators feel that they may all have been committed by the same suspect(s).

BINGHAMTON CRIME STOPPERS IS OFFERING A REWARD OF UP TO $1,000.00 FOR INFORMATION WHICH LEADS TO THE ARREST AND INDICTMENT OF THE SUSPECT IN THIS CASE.
