EPD Wendell Street Rape
In the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 28, 2005, a rape occurred in the Village of Endicott, New York. On that particular Monday night - Tuesday morning, it was very warm. A 25 year old Endicott woman was sitting in a chair in the backyard of her residence, when she fell asleep. The residence is located near North Nanticoke Avenue and Franklin Street.
At about 2:00 AM, the woman awoke and found a man holding his hand over her mouth. She attempted to flee from the man, but instead, fell backwards into the chair, hitting her head. This fall rendered the woman unconscious. Probably out for a short time, the woman regained consciousness only to find the man raping her. The suspect then fled the scene, no last known direction of travel is indicated.
There was no weapon displayed in this incident, and no known vehicles were used.
The suspect is described as being 25 to 35 years of age, 5’8” to 5’10” tall, medium to heavy set build, “scruffy” looking with some facial hair, wearing a dark ball cap.
