BCSO Fugitive David Lee Ranck

In June of 2005, a Burglary and a Grand Larceny occurred in the Town of Windsor, Broome County, New York. On Sunday, June 5, 2005, two neighboring automotive businesses in the Damascus area of the Town suffered losses to criminal activity. Damascus is located a few miles southeast of the Village of Windsor, in the area of the intersection of Old Route 17 and State Line Road. Both of the businesses had property stolen from them, during the commission of the criminal acts, which included Burglary and Larceny. The Broome County Sheriff’s Department was notified of the incidents, and an investigation was initiated.
The investigation resulted in the development of a suspect - David Lee Ranck. On Thursday, June 9, 2005, the Sheriff’s Department Detective Division recovered the property stolen in both crimes, at the residence of Ranck, 111 Harrison Avenue, Endicott, New York. Ranck was contacted, but declined an opportunity to turn himself in to the Sheriff’s Department. Consequently, a Warrant of Arrest was issued for Ranck, charging him with Burglary in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony. Ranck has never been arrested on that Warrant, and remains at large at this time.
On June 10, 2005, Ranck was operating a vehicle in the City of Binghamton, when he was stopped by Sheriff Deputies. Before he could be taken into custody, Ranck avoided capture by fleeing on foot.
On June 29, 2005, a man operating a vehicle, believed to be Ranck, refused to stop for New York State Police. The subsequent pursuit proceeded out of New York State and into the State of Pennsylvania. In that incident, the vehicle eventually pulled into a private driveway, where the driver exited the car and fled on foot, again, avoiding capture.
David Lee Ranck is described as a white male, 32 years of age, born December 7, 1972, 5’8”, 165 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes. He has numerous tattoos on his arms, legs, back and chest. Ranck is believed to be altering his appearance by changing hair color or shaving his head, and by altering or shaving facial hair.

BINGHAMTON CRIME STOPPERS IS OFFERING A REWARD OF UP TO $1,000.00 FOR INFORMATION WHICH LEADS TO THE ARREST AND INDICTMENT OF THE SUSPECT IN THIS CASE.
