BPD July 2005 Homicide

In July of 2005, a homicide occurred in the City of Binghamton, New York. In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 3, 2005, a uniformed Binghamton Police Officer was on routine patrol, on her car post on the west side of the city. At about 4:00 AM, the Officer was dispatched to a routine call for service. En route to this call, the Officer came across a large group of men involved in an altercation in front of the Broome County Department of Social Services building, which is located at 36 Main Street. The Officer radioed in her discovery and began to investigate the problem. Several backup Patrol Units responded to assist the Officer.
In the course of the initial response by Police, it was discovered that a 24 year old man had been stabbed in the altercation. The man was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, where he died of his wounds.
The subsequent investigation revealed that the murder victim is a local man, Kri-shon G. Ross, born March 27, 1981. The assailant(s) in this homicide have not been determined, and remain at large at this time.
