EPD May 2005 Forgery
In May of 2005, a Larceny and a Forgery occurred in the Village of Endicott, New York. On Monday, May 30, 2005, a check book was stolen from a vehicle while it was parked in the Cedar Court Plaza. This plaza is located at the intersection of Route 26 and Route 38B, in the Town of Maine. The following day, on Tuesday, May 31, 2005, two of the stolen checks were cashed in the Town of Union.
The subsequent investigation by the Endicott Police Department into the theft and ensuing illegal cashing of the checks revealed that each of the two instruments had the name of the account owner forged on them. Additionally, a description of a suspect in this case has been developed.
The description of the man who cashed the two stolen checks is as follows: white male, age in 30’s, 6 foot tall, thin build, neatly cut hair and clean shaven.
A picture of the suspect caught on surveillance video, has been developed and is being presented with this case.
