JCPD Oakdale Mall Strong Arm Robbery
In August of 2005, a “strong arm” robbery occurred in the Village of Johnson City, New York. On the late afternoon of Thursday, August 18, 2005, a 19 year old female was inside the Oakdale Mall, when she was approached by an unknown male. The male attempted to make conversation with the woman, but she walked away.
At approximately 5:30 PM, the woman was near her car in the west side parking lot of the Mall, in the vicinity of Sears, when she was again approached by the male. At this time, the male forcibly took the woman’s purse from her. He then fled the scene on foot, last observed running south through the parking lot.
Taken in the purse was an undisclosed amount of cash as well as personal items.
The suspect is described as a white male, age in his late 20’s to early 30’s, 6 foot tall, heavy build, short dirty blonde hair, wearing a bright blue pullover shirt, black pants and work boots.
A composite drawing of the suspect has been developed, and is presented with this case.
