BPD July 2005 Fayette Street Strong Arm Robbery

In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 3, 2005, a “Strong Arm” Robbery occurred in Binghamton, New York. At about 2:12 AM, on that date, a 27 year old Town of Binghamton man was walking south on Fayette Street from Henry Street. Just before the intersection with Pine Street, in the vicinity of 41 Fayette Street, the man was approached by two males on foot. One of the males asked the man if he, “needed something?” The man replied that he did not and attempted to walk away from the two by crossing the street. Once again the two males confronted the man and this time told him ,” you got something for us”. The males accentuated their demand by waving their fists threateningly at the man. Intimidated, the man reached into his pocket and took out an undisclosed amount of cash, which he handed to the males. He then made a hasty retreat from the two, going back the way he came, and then east on Henry Street. After eluding the two males, the man telephoned Binghamton Police.
Officers responded to the scene and searched the area intensively for the two males. The effort was unsuccessful, with the suspects not being located.
No one was injured in the incident and no weapon was ever displayed.
The males were described as black or possibly Hispanic, one was wearing a white hat, flannel shirt, white t-shirt and baggy jeans. The other was wearing a tan t-shirt and jeans.

BINGHAMTON CRIME STOPPERS IS OFFERING A REWARD OF UP TO $1,000.00 FOR INFORMATION WHICH LEADS TO THE ARREST AND INDICTMENT OF THE SUSPECT IN THIS CASE.
