NYSP - SSR Power Sleds Burglary

During the second week of August, 2005, a commercial burglary occurred in the Town of Chenango, Broome County, New York. Sometime between the hours of 9:00 PM on Thursday, August 11, 2005, and 8:00 AM, Friday, August 12, 2005, a break-in took place at the SSR Power Sports, located at 233 East Hill Road, which is in the Castle Creek area of the Town. The business is just east of the Exit 7, Castle Creek, ramp of Route 81, northbound.
The subsequent investigation by the New York State Police indicates that the perpetrator(s) entered the property with a tractor-trailer or large panel truck. Once on the property, the perpetrator(s) removed nine All Terrain Vehicles (ATV) from their packing crates and loaded them onto the vehicle(s) used in the burglary. In addition, the business was forcefully entered by breaking out the glass of the front door. After gaining entry, the perpetrator(s) stole a 2005 Yamaha 450 motorcycle from within.
Evidence at the scene indicates that the telephone lines to the business were cut, in an effort to disable the alarm system.
The total value of property stolen has been estimated at over $55,000.00.
In addition to specific suspect and stolen property information, investigators would be interested in any observations of suspicious individuals, vehicles or activity in the vicinity of the crime scene, during the time frame indicated previously mentioned.

BINGHAMTON CRIME STOPPERS IS OFFERING A REWARD OF UP TO $1,000.00 FOR INFORMATION WHICH LEADS TO THE ARREST AND INDICTMENT OF THE SUSPECT IN THIS CASE.
